Our Warranty

TrenMetals warrants its products to be free from defect in workmanship for a period of 10 years from the date of sale to the user. The warranty also covers the iron door finish for a period of 5 years and glass panels for 1 year. TrenMetals will repair or replace any defective product or part at our sole discretion excluding user damage and outside of regular standard use of product.

All products by TrenMetals are considered “one of a kind” and may contain variations in color from any samples presented. TrenMetals paint finishes will naturally age relative to exposure to natural elements and is therefore not covered by any warranty either implied or expressed. Due to frequency of use, in time, the finish may rub off in certain places. This however, for purpose of warranty is not considered a defect but a natural process that, over time, enhances the overall appearance and beauty of the metal.

Damages caused by accident, misuse, abuse or improper installation (by an unrelated party) are not covered under this warranty. This warranty does not cover damage caused by paint, acid or other chemicals. This warranty is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of the product if deemed defective, TrenMetals assumes no other liability.

This warranty does not cover broken glass, improper storage, installation and maintenance, improper cleaning (use of harsh chemicals/solvents), condensation on interior iron door surfaces as a result of cold climate installation, and moisture penetration resulting from normal wear.

This warranty does not cover regular wear of weather stripping, thresholds, and door sweeps as these are not related to regular door construction. Please refer to manufacturer for warranties regarding these products. This warranty is not transferable.

This warranty does not cover tape or any other adhesive type of product that is put directly onto the door and jamb. This will subsequently void the finish warranty on our product. TrenMetals products’ are finished with a nine stage automotive grade finish, and should be treated as an automobile.

All Iron door products exposed to below freezing climates may set on the interior of the door. This is not considered to be a defect with the door, and will not harm the door.

Considerations:

Condensation problems can occur; most frequently after cold weather installation but have shown much improvement after the first summer. They can also be related to warm air vents directly blowing on the door, and/or due to overly high humidity/poor ventilation in the home. Given that no iron doors on the market have a thermal break, we cannot warrant against this issue but can advise on how to improve it. There are many benefits to iron that outweigh any potential negatives. Besides the beauty of an iron door, iron will not rot, will not bow and will not need refinishing every 2 years like a wood door.

Installations:

Installation warranty is provided by the individual distribution party.  Please contact your distributor on their warranty.

It is reasonable to expect some scratching or scuff marks as a result of handling during the installation process, this is not considered a manufacturers’ defect. TrenMetals can, for a small additional fee, provide a touch up paint kit that is sufficient in repairing surface issues.
